FAQ
What is “The Guide”? The Guide is a special section that provides investors quality insight on finding a financial advisor. The guide will appear 4 times a year in Barron’s, twice a year in The Wall Street Journal, and year-round on Barrons.com. Each format includes a directory of Barrons-ranked advisors.
What is “The Directory”? The Print Directory is a list of Barrons-ranked advisors who have chosen to advertise their firm and contact information inside the Guide. The Online Directory will include 1200+ ranked advisors' name, firm and city, and advisors can upgrade to include a personalized profile page.
Is this separate from the advisor rankings? Yes. An advisor’s participation or lack of participation in this program will have no bearing on his standing in future rankings. At Barron’s, we pride ourselves on the highest ethical standards, and we will always rely on those standards to rank the very best advisors in the nation.

Who am I reaching? Barron’s offers a small but wealthy audience of sophisticated investors. The Journal offers a larger audience, but with a wider range of income. The online format offers exposure to a younger audience who may not regularly read the print product.
How big is the audience? According to independent research from the Ipsos Affluent Study, 657,000 affluent Americans read Barron’s in print, and 803,000 affluent visitors online monthly. The Journal has 1.2 million print subscribers and 3 million digital subscribers.
What is included in the online directory? The online directory will include an interactive map of all 1,200+ advisors. The optional profile page will include key statistics on your practice, your FINRA record, a personal statement, a photo and links to relevant social media
|
What is included in the print directory? The printed directory will list your name, key facts about your practice, plus your phone number, email and website. Your listing will appear in alphabetical order with other Barrons-ranked advisors from your state who participate. A pdf of the Barron’s Print Directory will also be available for download at barrons.com
Do I have to decide now? You can choose to participate in the directory at any time during the year, but the price will not be pro-rated.
Do I have to buy all three formats? Advisors can choose to run in any of the three formats – online, in Barron’s or in The Wall Street Journal. There is a discount for running in more than one format.
